Harry Harrison is probably best known for his daily cartoons in the SCMP where he is political cartoonist, his work appearing six days a week since 2001.
Among various other publications, he also regularly produces cartoons for
Thomson Reuters International Finance Review and he was a regular contributor to the Guardian, Time Magazine, Asian Wall Street Journal and Far Eastern Economic Review.
When not covering current affairs, Harry collaborates with children’s author Sarah Brennan on the Chinese Zodiac Tales and Dirty Stories.
Over the years, Harry’s work has picked up various awards including the Human Rights Press Awards for Body of Work and most recently the Awards of Excellence in Editorial Cartooning at the 2015 SOPA Awards.
Although based in Hong Kong, he is also a proud member of the Professional Cartoonists’ Organisation in the UK.
The panda series are of non commissioned originals employing one of his favourite characters: the large, fat,« cuddly », yet somewhat sinister Chinese panda and its recent flirtation with Hong Kong’s political reform.
